988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. Signed into law in 2020, the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act authorized 988 as the new three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Life Crisis Services: 314-647-HELP (4357). The Life Crisis Services (Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri) team is available 24/7. Mental health experts listen in a caring, nonjudgmental way, and help callers with the next steps toward overcoming personal challenges.
Behavioral Health Response: (local) 314-469-6644; (toll free) 1-800-811-4760. Operates 24/7. BHR, a nonprofit corporation comprised of trained clinicians and professionals, has provided mental health services and counseling for over 28 years.

LGBTQ Youth Suicide Hotline: 1-866-4-U-TREVOR (488-7386). Serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth in crisis. The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people.
Crisis Nursery Help Line: 314-768-3201 (St. Louis); 636-947-0600 (St. Charles). Free short-term, safe care for children, birth through age 12, whose families face an emergency caused by illness, homelessness, domestic violence or overwhelming parental stress.
